Classic Overland will begin building the “Greene Machine” in May starting with a complete restoration from the ground up. Every seal, every bearing, every nut and rivet is replaced. Clients work closely with Classic Overland to manage weekly progress and ensure the clients expectations are being met. From exterior design, to interior amenities, to overland accessories there is nothing that is overlooked in this meticulous process.
“I’ve been very particular about waiting for the right opportunity to purchase a Defender. When I saw the amazing opportunity to not only custom build my Defender from the ground up, but also be given the chance to drive my Defender with my family on safari throughout southern Africa, I knew the time had come” said Gene Greene of Fairplay, Colorado.
The Greene’s will fly into Johannesburg, South Africa in July where they will be escorted by the professionals at Classic Overland into the famed Kruger National Park. “There is no better opportunity to let our client experience overlanding then in the wilds of Africa. We will guide them through the various ways to enjoy their amazing Defender to the fullest, all the while on safari looking for the Big 5. When the trip is over our clients will head back to America with incredible tales of their Defender in the bush and their vehicle covered in African dust will arrive at their home in Colorado 4 weeks later. ” said Stebin Horne with Classic Overland.
“The level of restoration and refurbishment I see Classic Overland putting into these trucks is impressive in and of itself. The Drive Africa experience has created a higher level of communication and technical advice that I wouldn’t have received otherwise, and I’m really looking forward to overlanding this summer.
